The T04 is recognized as "the" turbo for big powerful street and off road engines. The basic T04 has been offered in a wide variety of A/R and performance configurations. T04's in various stages of "trim" are in use on everything from Volkswagens to Buick Grand National engines. The T04 supplied by CB Performance is designated T04B35, and is specifically designed for use on VW engines. Higher efficiency, and attention to detail sets the CB T04B35 far above competitive units for use on VW engines. The T04B35 is equipped with a .69 A/R exhaust turbine and a 0.6 Hi/Flo compressor. A V2 compressor trim is matched to a 2.581" compressor intake. Carbon seals are used to allow installation in pull through or blow through applications. T04B35's are blueprinted which includes inspection of all parts, bronze shaft bushings, SUPER balance of the compressor and the turbine, and assembly to less than one-half factory tolerance. The T04B35 is your answer to super boost pressures while retaining bottom end and mid-range performance. We have used this version of the T04 on mid-engined Beck Spyders and rear and mid-engined dune buggies with continual success. An example is the 84 X 94 turbo'd, injected, engine installed in our Beck Spyder. This street driven kit car operates on pump gas, runs boost pressures to 18 P.S. 1. and pumps out over 370 HP. Turbo lag is not a factor! Quarter mile speeds reached with D.O.T. Michelins on the rear, have continually exceeded 140mph! A remote waste gate is required to provide design flexibility and precise boost control.
